This tour has everything the Algoma Adventure has – plus we've added an incredible experience on Day 3 with a scenic flight in an Otter and fresh shore lunch. Additionally, August nights offer a great opportunity to view the Aurora Borealis (Northern Lights) as they fill the sky with dancing colours.
Day 1 - Orangeville to Elliot Lake – 450 km
Depart Orangeville; stop at Meaford; we need to be in Tobermory by 10:00 a.m. to catch the M.S.Chi Cheemaun ferry to Manitoulin.
Lunch: aboard Ferry
Disembark: Relaxed ride across Manitoulin Island from South Baymouth to Little Current enjoying the unique ambiance of this island; through Espanola – west along the North Channel on the Trans Canada (mostly) to Elliot Lake and our accommodations overlooking the lake.

Day 2 – Elliot Lake to Wawa – 400 km.
Before leaving Elliot Lake , we'll travel up to the Fire Lookout for a panoramic view of the area. This gives us an appreciation for the vastness and beauty of this area; Manitoulin Island can be seen when visibility is good.
Our ride will continue along the Deer Trail, on a stunning journey through some of the most beautiful unspoiled landscape in Northern Ontario .
This will lead to our ride through the Mississagi Valley which encompasses three distinct communities nestled among the rivers, lakes, valleys and farmland of Algoma, an area whose rugged beauty was best captured by the Group of Seven. Aubrey Falls and Potholes Park are 2 of the scenic stops we make.

Day 3 : Wawa area
When we were here the first time, we knew we needed to stay an extra day to take in the ambiance of the full northern experience. After all, we've come all this way.
A highlight of this day is a flight with Watson Skyways on an Otter bush plane to Pine Portage Lodge which is in a remote location on Kabinakagami Lake, accessible only by air and is a one-half hour flight from Wawa each way. At the lodge, and weather permitting, the lodge staff will prepare a traditional shore lunch of freshly caught pickerel. Inside storage facilities are available for our motorcycles while we're gone.
We also have time to explore some of this unique area and partake in some local cultural events as possible.

Day 4 : Wawa to Batchawana Bay : 160 km.
We'll begin our day with a personalized tour of Wawa area and take in some of the natural surroundings, including some often missed treasures.
As we head south, we'll enjoy spectacular riding along the shore of Lake Superior. This ride has been named one of the top 10 in Canada .
Lake Superior Provincial Park takes us through the vast and scenic area where between 1918 and 1923 the Group of Seven members painted here, gaining access to the wilderness via a rented railway boxcar. We'll have a number of scenic and interesting stops, including the Agawa Pictographs – a fascinating assembly of 35 ancient rock paintings created by the Ojibwa people– many that are centuries old.

Day 5 : Batchawana Bay to Thessalon: 250 km.
There will be an opportunity to enjoy the grounds of Salzburger Hof Resort and area before we depart. Our route will take us inland through changing terrain as we make our way around Sault Ste. Marie. We'll explore St. Joseph Island which is historic as well as scenic; beautiful vistas, woodlands, rolling hills; an old fort; Indian/Aboriginal heritage. Our destination for the day is Thessalon where our accommodations are right on the waterfront.

Day 6 : Thessalon to Meaford/Orangeville: 400 km
Breakfast: Carolyn Beach Motor Inn.
An enjoyable ride back along the North Channel of Lake Huron as we make our way home across Manitoulin Island. We will take the 1:30 ferry back to Tobermory and enjoy a casual late summer ride back to Orangeville.
