It’s Show Time!!!   Motorcycle shows on both sides of the border are swinging into high gear.  That can only mean one thing: the 2012 riding season has begun!  As with anything worthy of our time, dreaming, planning and preparing feed our soul and are an integral part of the experience.

This winter, there’s lots to nourish us. As our community evolves and grows, there is an increasing array of bike models, gear, accessories and opportunities that beckon.  Motorcycle shows are a great way to keep up to date with the latest developments and meeting the coolest people.  And they’re a fun way to spend a winter day!

Its also gift-giving season and the shows are an ideal place to find unique ideas and items, bound to appeal to the special riders in your life.

Women Motorcycles and the Road to Empowerment – Meet the women this weekend!

The book is now available in print and Kindle versions, with more ebook formats to follow shortly.  Check here to find out where to purchase yours.

The Canadian launch is this Friday December 9th, during She Rides night at the Toronto Motorcycle Show.  To celebrate, we’ve prepared a special slide show of the women in the book which will be displayed throughout the show.  Stop by the booth (#1639) between 7:00 and 9:00 p.m. on Friday and meet some of them in person.

Signed copies of the book will be available throughout the show and makes a great gift for riders, future riders and those whose interests lie beyond riding.

Due to the incredible response, the special website pricing has been extended until December 16th.   Read Genevieve Schmitt’s review on Women Riders Now.

Toronto Motorcycle Show

See the latest models, gear,  visit tourism operators from around the world – and start your planning for next year.  Check the website for full details.

The show is on Dec 9th to 11th at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre,South Building.  Friday evening is She Rides night with free admission for women after 5:00 p.m.  Show organizers and vendors are welcoming women by extending special offers and incentives.

I’ll be co-hosting the stage and interviewing fabulous, inspirational women.  Designer Lissa Hill will conduct two of her “Ass Classes” and show us how to properly fit leather apparel to best show off our ASSets.

North American International Motorcycle SuperShow

Hot on the heels of the New Year, the IMSS promises to be bigger and better than ever.  Now filling all seven halls at the International Centre, there is something for everyone here.

I’ll be there signing copies of Women, Motorcycles and the Road to Empowerment, as well as hosting a Women Riders Forum throughout the weekend.  Watch the site for more details.

AMA Women and Motorcycling Conference

Set in Carson City,Nevada, a premier riding destination, the conference will focus on educating, encouraging, inspiring and mentoring women in the lifestyle and sport of motorcycling.   The action-packed program will be filled with workshops, seminars, area rides, speakers, demo rides and skills training.  Most memorable will be the camaraderie from the women and men who attend.

Watch the  AMA conference website for regular updates.

Progressive International Motorcycle Shows

It’s an honour and thrill to be attending and participating in these US shows.  This January, I’ll be traveling to Washington, DC, New York, NY and Cleveland, OH to host seminars on the Learning Curve Stage, promote Women, Motorcycles and the Road to Empowerment – and more importantly, promote the message of the book.

Each seminar will feature interviews with prominent women riders of influence, many whom have stories in the book.  Watch the show schedule to see which guests will be at each one, and make sure to catch these interactive and engaging sessions.

10 Ideas for Stocking Stuffers

Gift ideas for riders are starting to appear.  Women Riders Now is featuring exclusive deals for WRN readers.  Another excellent list for the touring rider was just posted by Mike Jacobs on the Northern Ontario tourism site.

I’ve come up with a list of my own that is budget friendly and will be a thoughtful gift for any rider.   Read them here

In closing, as we celebrate this special season, I wish each of you, your families and friends a peaceful, joyous and safe holiday season.  As we reflect on the year gone by and plan for the year to come, may yours be filled with love, adventure and abundance.

Thank you for sharing the Road.

Liz
